Strength Conditioning Trends and the Role of the Coach in Sports Injury Prevention
The world of strength and conditioning is an ever changing beast, with concepts and trends constantly being modified. This seminar will discuss and demonstrate new trends in strength and conditioning with an emphasis on speed, agility, and power developments in the youth population. Insight will be given as to how variable resistance training promotes greater strength and power adaptations than traditional resistance training in elite youth athletes.
Prevention of sports injuries is a priority for coaches, athletes, and parents across the spectrum of training and competition. Achieving this objective requires a multidisciplinary approach with coaches playing an important role in the process. This seminar will also discuss and demonstrate how to incorporate important sports injury prevention concepts when developing the strength conditioning program, as well as the year-long training plan.
